Shoe factories across the industry have a long history of teaming up with new movies, shows, anime, and media franchises to bring pop culture references, color palettes, and distinct design themes to their classic designs.

This year, Japanese anime and manga were major targets in the sneaker industry, for example, Adidas collaborating with Yu-Gi-Oh !, Nike collaborated with Hello Kitty, Vans collaborated with One Piece, and now Puma collaborates with Pokémon.

In the latest collection, Puma pays tribute to the always popular and well-liked characters of the first generation Pokémon by immortalizing them in the form of shoes. Puma’s official e-commerce site highlights the collaboration:

“From the Kanto region to your wardrobe, the first-ever PUMA x POKÉMON collaboration has arrived. The collection is distinguished by contemporary streetwear elements, eye-catching colors and authentic Pokémon details – so you can be the best dressed Trainer in the world. ”

The original first-generation characters Charmander, Pikachu, Squirtle and Bulbasaur come in the four classic silhouettes of the German sports giants, the RS-X, Suede, Slipstream and Future Rider.

Charmander’s fiery character appears above the Slipstream in the Dark Cheddar / Pale Lemon color scheme. The upper silhouettes of 1987’s basketball sneakers are made of suede material. The shoe will retail for $ 100 for adult male sizes, $ 65 for preschool sizes, and $ 60 for toddler sizes.

Second on the list is Squirtle, which arrives in the iconic icy blue tones on the Puma Suede sneakers. Dark blue shades appear above the silhouette with translucent blue soles. The shoe will retail for $ 80 for men, $ 60 for school sizes, and $ 55 for preschool sizes.

The most popular figure of Pikachu appears above the RS-X and Future Rider sneakers. The silhouette of the RS-X wears the Empire Yellow / Pale Lemon color scheme at a retail price of $ 120 for men. In the Future Rider silhouette, the Yellow / Pale Lemon colors go hand in hand with the TBD prices.

Finally, Bulbasaur adds color to the Future Rider model in shades of green. The price of the silhouette has not yet been disclosed. All five pairs contain the appropriate generation of one character on the language tags.

Themed pendants, logo on the heel and branding of the insole complete the style of the Japanese franchise, while at the same time indicating the fighting style of the iconic characters. The entire collection is scheduled to be released on November 12, 2022, on the official Puma website and at select retailers with retail prices ranging from $ 55 to $ 120.
