Michigan volleyball topples MSU in the 10th consecutive game

The week of competition lasted at Ann Arbor until Sunday, when Michigan volleyball team (14-8 in total, 5-7 Big Ten) faced Michigan State (10-13, 1-11) at the Crisler Center. Wolverines’ winning streak against the Spartans has extended to 10 wins in a row in the last five years. Michigan relied on defensive play both in the net and in the back row to extend that streak.

The strong presence of Wolverines in the network was expressed from the beginning of the match. They started the first set with numerous attacks turned into killings, surprising the defense of the state of Michigan.

Outside Junior Allison Jacobs led Michigan in the killings, a total of nine in the game, helping to generate online scoring opportunities. Her success also played a role in the Wolverines attack factor of 0.371 in the first set, a statistic that reflects Michigan’s strong offensive performance.
