Emmett Till’s family hope the premiere of “Till” will help advance the story of the teenager who was murdered in Money, Mississippi in 1955. The story Mamie Till Mobley wanted to tell in 1955 is finally going to be told to the world, ”said Emmett Till’s cousin, Deborah Watts. Till depicts Mamie Till Mobley’s pursuit of justice for the murder of her son, Emmett, who was 14 when he was murdered for allegedly whistling and sexually advocating a white woman, Carolyn Bryant Donham, in 1955. Till was kidnapped, murdered, and his body thrown into the Tallahatchie River. The family hopes this movie will bring awareness to those unfamiliar with Emmett’s story and bring peace to the family. “Sixty-seven years, I think that’s long enough, delayed justice is a denial of justice, and I think it’s time,” Watts said.
